Brock Commons Tallwood House
University of British Columbia Tallwood House
Brock Commons Tallwood House is a 404-bed student housing residence at the University of British Columbia (UBC). At the time of its completion in 2017, Tallwood House was the tallest mass wood tower in the world.
Not only did it have this global distinction, but when it was completed it won numerous awards including an International Prize for Wood Architecture, Premier’s Innovation & Excellence Award, and the Lieutenant Governor of BC Award, just to name a few.
We are proud to be an important part of the project by supplying the Hollow Metal Doors, Pressed Steel Frames, Wood Doors, and all Door Hardware for the 18-storey residence. We also handled the installation process for the products, as well as the programming of the Card Access locks and the Auto Operators on the project. As of writing, all products are working as specified, welcoming a new crop of students each year. You can watch the time lapse video of the construction below from Naturally:Wood
