Canyon Falls Middle School includes a neighbourhood learning centre that will be used by the Central Okanagan School District for childcare and other community programs. At Canyon Falls, students will be immersed in a 21st-century learning environment that includes learning commons, flexible classrooms and a new sports field. The $38 million structure features an open concept with collaborative spaces, breakout rooms for small groups to work in, and tables on wheels and walls that can fold out so that teachers can design rooms to fit their needs.
AccessSMT was brought on to the project to secure the openings and hardware. Our ability to preinstall the door hardware offsite in our facility improves quality control as it allows us to ensure the product is completed correctly before shipping it to site. AccessSMT’s Kelowna location pre-installed all the door hardware for Canyon Falls Middle School at our Kelowna location to ensure an efficient and error free installation on-site. Preinstalling the hardware on the door also removed the responsibility of the contractor to receive and validate the hardware from several different boxes on-site. In the end, the Canyon Falls Middle School had reduced costs as hardware installation was done in a controlled and efficient environment by our experts and created a quick and efficient solution.
Canyon Falls Middle School opened its doors in September 2019 with all openings secure and functioning as specified.
