In September of 2019, University of Lethbridge students, faculty, staff, alumni and community celebrated the opening of Science Commons, Canada’s most advanced facility for science education and research.
The $280-million state-of-the-art facility puts science on display with open and flexible laboratories, makerspaces and specialized outreach and collaborative spaces. The Science Commons was intentionally designed to enhance the University’s sustainability, the Science Commons demonstrates Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and aims for Gold LEED Certification.
AccessSMT’s Lethbridge location was brought on to secure the openings for the Science Commons project. We were able to supply the Science Commons with hollow metal doors & pressed steel frames, stainless steel frames, Composite Doors (FRP), as well as completing all the door hardware for all the openings in the new building. All work is operating as specified and the Science Commons at the University of Lethbridge is proud to be providing some of the brightest minds in science access to a world class research centre.
